Job summary

Schupan in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and models in Databricks, connecting ERP and operations systems to provide actionable insights for trading and recycling teams.

You will work with AI tooling, including Claude and Replit, to ship internal apps and automations, collaborate with a small team, and help shape data standards across the company in a rapidly evolving data landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines in Databricks (Spark, SQL, Delta Lake).
• Strong SQL skills (T-SQL) and Microsoft SQL Server experience.
• Proficiency in Python and API design (REST; GraphQL a plus).
• Experience with Claude and Replit or similar AI coding tools.
• Experience integrating cloud services with on‑premises systems; Azure Data Factory / SSIS a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and data models in Databricks.
• Connect operational systems (including SQL Server) to Databricks via APIs and integration tools.
• Use Claude and Replit to build tools, automations, and internal apps.
• Work with trading, recycling, and operations teams to deliver data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across sources.
