Job description

IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Westbrook, ME (telecommuting permitted).

The Senior Data Engineer will develop and build robust, fault-tolerant data pipelines that collect, assemble, and potentially transform and aggregate unorganized data from various sources such as operational data stores, data integration hubs, and data lakes. Responsibilities include designing scalable data processing frameworks, implementing data management solutions, ensuring high performance and data accuracy, and leading the creation of standards and best practices for data operations.

Minimum requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience, including 3 years with object-oriented languages (Python, Java, Scala).
2. Or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of related experience with the same languages.
3. Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases such as Snowflake, Oracle, Redshift.
4. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
5. Proficiency with data pipeline and workflow scheduling tools such as Apache Airflow and Informatica.
6. Experience with ETL/ELT tools, data processing techniques, and database design and modeling.
