Job summary

SHR Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of cloud-based data pipelines, ETL processes, and data ingestion frameworks for FEMA analytics platforms.

You will architect complex ingestion pipelines, lead data modeling, and ensure security and governance per DHS standards while supporting analytics and AI/ML teams across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 7+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Experience building cloud-based data pipelines and ETL frameworks is essential.

Responsibilities

• Architect and optimize complex data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Lead data modeling, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Ensure security and data governance per FISMA/FedRAMP requirements.
• Support analytics, AI/ML teams, and cross-program data initiatives.
• Oversee automation, code reviews, and DevSecOps integration.
• Collaborate with FEMA analytics platforms and cloud tooling.

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of cloud-based data pipelines, ETL processes, and data ingestion frameworks supporting FEMA’s data analytics platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and optimize complex data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Lead data modeling, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Ensure FISMA/FedRAMP-compliant security and data governance.
• Support analytics, AI/ML teams, and cross-program data initiatives.
• Oversee automation, code reviews, and DevSecOps integration.
• At least 7+ years of relevant working experience in a similar role.
• Deep experience with distributed computing (Spark, EMR, Databricks).
• Advanced SQL, Python, cloud data tooling.
• Familiarity with DHS data governance and security standards.

Education and Certification Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Clearance Requirements

• Ability to obtain Public Trust. Active Public Trust is preferred. FEMA Public Trust is highly preferred.
