We are currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team. We are a completely remote company!

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for owning customer projects through completion, communicating clearly and concisely with customer technical and business teams along with MDaudit project team members to ensure all work is completed accurately and on time. The Senior Data Engineer will handle specific technical and configuration tasks including: the extract, transform, and load (ETL) of customer data, developing tools to streamline ETL processes, converting data from legacy to new systems, and monitoring and maintaining daily data feeds. This individual will be responsible for working with customers to diagnose and resolve issues related to application setup and data integration (ETL) through transition to Support. This individual will also be responsible for supporting new initiatives, bringing their creativity to a greenfield space within MDaudit.

A successful candidate has strong experience building healthcare measures, efficiently retrieving data from a data lake, building and troubleshooting data pipelines and developing automated data set processes. The candidate will act as a subject matter expert in implementing the best practices of coding in implementing projects. In this role, you'll influence technology strategies, ensure that the technological solutions are aligned with the company's business needs and bring to life data and how it can impact positive healthcare outcomes.

This position may require occasional travel (15%) and accessibility to a major airport.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensures thorough, accurate, and timely data migration (ETL) into the MDaudit platform including all associated troubleshooting.
2. Takes full ownership of the end-to-end implementation process, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones and technical solutions, managing any needed escalation to both customer activation and your manager to keep the project on track.
3. Understand data sources in-depth;design & implement data extraction & processing pipelines that work around imperfections of data to improve data quality & coverage.
4. Deliver high-quality, scalable code with automated test coverage.
5. Oversee the data validation process to ensure that data is accurate, consistent, and properly integrated into the SaaS platform. Implements checks and troubleshoots any discrepancies, resolving any issues quickly.
6. Provides weekly status reports/updates to clients maintaining a trail of our progress to internal and external stakeholders.
7. Take responsibility for the smooth transition of completed projects to support teams, ensuring all relevant documentation, processes, and data flows are transferred effectively.
8. Collects and integrates feedback from clients and internal teams to continuously improve implementations and processes.
9. Provides technical support to customers by responding to inquiries and resolving issues related to data ingestion.
10. Provides product and technical advice to other team members and project managers.
11. Mentors junior team members.
12. Trains new engineers on the technical elements of the product.
13. Ensure transfer of technical knowledge of all products to identified technical resources within the company.
14. Provides input to documentation (e-learning, User Guides, Help files, Training guides, Release notes, standard operating procedures) for customers and internal staff.
15. Contributes to employee performance reviews as appropriate.
16. Participating, and in some cases leads the design and implementation of internal team structures and processes.
17. Provides Sales technical application support as needed.
18. Other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 6 years of experience with AWS, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, SSMS, Visual Studio, and Data Warehouse ETL processes.
• 4 years of programming experience with Python, C#, VB.NET, T-SQL.
• Hands-on experience with cloud computing (AWS RDS, S3, EC2, Snowflake, Microsoft Azure), data modeling / data architecture experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience building end-to-end pipelines within AWS Stack.
• Experience with Single Sign On (SSO) integration with various identity providers (Microsoft, Ping, SAML, Okta etc.).
• Understanding of data analytics and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau etc.).
• Extensive experience processing and managing medical (EDI transactional data sets 835, 837) as well as EHR data; pharmacy claims experience a plus.
• Experience using Agile and Lean methodologies.
• Experience with PowerShell a plus.
