Senior Data Engineer – Healthcare Investment Firm, NYC

The Firm:

We are working with a successful healthcare trading firm in New York that is building out a brand-new team. Their expansive portfolio includes companies across healthtech and biotech - ranging from startups to more mature businesses - as well as their own on-campus research lab dedicated to leading discovery and innovation in healthcare.

The Team:

This newly formed team will focus on building AI tools to improve and optimize performance across their portfolio companies.

They are looking to bring on Data Engineers who can play a key role in developing large-scale data pipelines and scalable data platforms, collaborate closely with data scientists and analysts, and design data models for both operational and analytical use cases.

This person will be a founding member of the team, which is expected to grow to around 30 people over the next few years - making this a great opportunity to establish yourself as a technical leader within a high-impact group.

They’re seeking someone who has experience working in a small team with a high degree of ownership and who is comfortable taking projects from zero to one.

Competitive compensation package from $160k-$250k base salary depending on experience.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience working with large-scale data pipelines
• Strong skills in Python and SQL
• Must have experience with PySpark and Databricks
• Experience with cloud computing technologies such as AWS, Azure, etc.
• Prior experience in a financial or healthcare-related business is a plus
