JOB DESCRIPTION

Fanatics is building a leading global digital sports platform. We ignite the passions of global sports fans and maximize the presence and reach for our hundreds of sports partners globally by offering products and services across Fanatics Commerce, Fanatics Collectibles, and Fanatics Betting & Gaming, allowing sports fans to Buy, Collect, and Bet. Through the Fanatics platform, sports fans can buy licensed fan gear, jerseys, lifestyle and streetwear products, headwear, and hardgoods; collect physical and digital trading cards, sports memorabilia, and other digital assets; and bet as the company builds its Sportsbook and iGaming platform. Fanatics has an established database of over 100 million global sports fans; a global partner network with approximately 900 sports properties, including major national and international professional sports leagues, players associations, teams, colleges, college conferences and retail partners, 2,500 athletes and celebrities, and 200 exclusive athletes; and over 2,000 retail locations, including its Lids retail stores. The Role

As a Senior Data Engineer (or Data Engineer III) in the Fan Ecosystem organization, you will help build out our central Data platform and critical data assets. This role reports to our Manager of Data Engineering and involves defining, implementing, training, and executing our engineering strategy, creating processes, and building tools within the Fan Ecosystem. The Senior DE will be autonomous, proactive, and collaborative.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop a strong understanding of the Fan Ecosystem and the various business units it supports
  • Lead initiatives to build data-centric processes benefiting the organization and its business units
  • Create data objects and assets to support business intelligence and data science use cases
  • Set a high standard for engineering excellence by example
  • Contribute to hiring and training other engineering team members
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, both inside and outside of Engineering
  • Deliver service and data integrations between different teams and third parties
  • Be open to occasional travel to Fanatics offices and other locations for conferences, events, meetings, and team building activities

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong technical skills, both functional and non-functional, in a continuous delivery environment
  • Ability to partner closely with analysts, product managers, and other engineers
  • Experience with large-scale cloud databases, data transformation, and performance optimization
  • Proficiency with modern tech stack and languages (Python, SQL, SQS, Snowflake, S3, SFTP, dbt, Airflow)
  • Positive and flexible attitude to work in a fast-paced environment and willingness to embrace new initiatives and technologies
  • Strong communication skills to articulate complex topics succinctly
  • Experience working within AWS environment and familiarity with Snowflake is a plus

In New York, the salary range for this position is $160,000 to $200,000, which includes base pay but excludes incentives. Final compensation considers location, experience, qualifications, and training.
