The Opportunity

This Senior Data Engineer position can be remote within the U.S.

As a senior member of the Data Engineering & Analytics team, you will build big data collection and analytics capabilities to uncover insights related to customers, products, and operations. You should be able to work with a geographically distributed team to develop data pipelines that handle complex datasets efficiently and securely, operationalize data science solutions, and work in a technology-driven environment using tools like Databricks, Redshift, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Spark, and Python.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and implement data pipelines for processing and visualization across various projects.
2. Develop and maintain scalable data architecture using AWS native services.
3. Design and optimize data models on AWS Cloud using Databricks and AWS data stores.
4. Integrate large, complex datasets to meet business needs.
5. Extract, transform, load data as required for analysis.
6. Manage integration tools, databases, warehouses, and analytical systems.
7. Process unstructured data for analysis and support data analysis efforts.
8. Collaborate with technology and engineering teams to align data processing with business objectives.
9. Monitor and optimize data performance, uptime, and scalability, maintaining high code quality.
10. Create architecture and design documentation, and establish best practices.
11. Support technical planning, reviews, and training for team members.
12. Build relationships with other teams such as Engineering, Marketing, Product, and QA.
13. Stay current with emerging trends and recommend innovations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field.
• 3 to 8 years of experience in Software/Data Engineering or Big Data.
• Effective team collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Databricks and/or Spark.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, Kafka, or Go, with willingness to learn new languages.
• Knowledge of processing large structured and unstructured data, integrating multiple sources.
• Data cleaning, wrangling, visualization, and reporting skills.
• Ability to explore and implement innovative data solutions.
• Familiarity with databases, BI tools, data quality, and performance tuning.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Comfort working asynchronously with distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS services like S3, RDS, Redshift, DynamoDB, EMR, Glue, Lambda.
• Experience in an agile environment.
• Practical knowledge of Linux.

The base pay ranges from $75,300 to $150,700, depending on location.
