Job summary

KeyCorp is hiring a Senior Engineer to lead the design, automation, and deployment of an enterprise data discovery and inventory platform. You will drive scalable and secure engineering solutions and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with governance, privacy, and infrastructure teams.

This role emphasizes architecture, automation, and engineering excellence with Python, REST APIs, JSON, XML, and REGEX, and offers flexible in-office options to support collaboration and innovation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of full-stack engineering with Python and SQL.
• Experience in data discovery or data protection.
• Expertise with JSON, XML, and REGEX data inspection.
• Strong fundamentals: REST APIs, data structures, algorithms, and database design.
• Hands-on Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Familiar with Agile and SDLC processes.
• Experience with BigID or PKProtect preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of automated data discovery across structured and unstructured environments.
• Build automation pipelines for data classification, inventory updates.
• Develop software using Python, JSON, XML, REGEX, and RESTful APIs.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with governance, privacy, and infra teams.
• Plan technical work: estimates, dependencies, risk mitigation.
• Provide architecture strategy aligning technology with business needs.
