We are Seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support data needs for institutional advisor services, including portfolio construction, model management, and funds comparison. This is a high-exposure role working with major clients, requiring strong communication skills and expertise in data engineering, ETL processes, and cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop ETL reporting and analytics solutions.
- Implement innovative data integration solutions using cloud and traditional infrastructure technologies.
- Move data through various stages into target databases (Postgres).
- Support production debugging and processing of vendor data.
- Collaborate with Data Architects, Business Analysts, and Solution Architects for end-to-end development activities.
- Create, update, and maintain technical documentation for software-based projects.
- Solve production issues and provide ongoing support.
- Participate in architecture, technical design, and product implementation discussions.
- Work in Agile environment based on JIRA stories.
- Mentor junior data engineers and assist in technical guidance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred).
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering.
- Strong experience with Python for ETL batch jobs.
- Heavy SQL experience for data analysis, validation, and querying.
- Proficiency with AWS services (IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
- Experience with Postgres database.
- Advanced knowledge of data warehousing methodologies and concepts.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD tools (Maven, Jenkins, Docker).
- Strong debugging and production support skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with global Agile teams and mentor peers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Snowflake.
- Java for API development (training can be provided).
- Asset management domain knowledge.
- Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Snaplogic).
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
