Job summary

Serverfarm is seeking an on-site facilities technician to lead operations for data center shifts and manage critical electrical, mechanical, and environmental systems. You will respond to alarms, perform system walkthroughs, and ensure safe, compliant operation of UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, and cooling equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in data center operations with focus on electrical, mechanical, and environmental systems.
• Ability to lead during shifts and respond to alarms and abnormal conditions.
• Familiarity with safety regulations, LOTO, arc-flash, and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform system walkthroughs to validate performance and lead shift turnovers and communications.

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance; review MOPs/SOPs/EOPs and risk assessments.
• Participate in safety, documentation, and training programs; mentor junior staff.
• Maintain operational logs and contribute to procedures and documentation.

Key Accountabilities:

• Operations Leadership & Monitoring
• Serve as the senior technical resource during assigned shifts
• Monitor and manage electrical, mechanical, and environmental systems
• Lead response to alarms, events, and abnormal conditions
• Conduct detailed facility walkthroughs and validate system performance
• Lead shift turnovers and status communications

• Electrical & Mechanical Systems Execution
• Operate and maintain UPS, generators, switchgear, ATS/STS, PDUs, and RPPs
• Operate and support chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, and valves
• Execute system switching, load transfers, and isolations per approved proceduresIdentify system deficiencies and single points of failure

• Maintenance & Change Management
• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities
• Review, validate, and execute MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs
• Participate in change management and risk assessments
• Oversee vendor activities and verify post‑maintenance restoration
• Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
• Enforce LOTO, electrical safety, arc‑flash, and PPE requirements
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain and review operational logs and maintenance records

The listed salary range for this position is an estimate based on the competitive job market. Final compensation will be based on your own individual skills, experience, and location.
