Job summary

Serverfarm in Covington, GA is seeking an experienced Operations Lead for its data-center facilities. You will oversee shift leadership, monitor critical electrical and mechanical systems, and ensure safe, reliable operation of UPS, generators, cooling, and power distribution.

The role requires strong technical judgment, 5+ years in mission-critical ops, and a track record of leadership. Relocation assistance is offered for this on-site position located near Atlanta.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data center or mission-critical operations.
• Ability to read one-line diagrams and OEM documentation.
• Safety and risk management mindset (LOTO, arc-flash, PPE).
• Leadership or acting-lead experience.
• Experience with BMS/EPMS/DCIM/CMMS platforms.

THIS POSITION WILL BE BASED IN COVINGTON, GA (OUTSIDE OF ATLANTA) WITH RELOCATION ASSISTANCE OFFERED

Responsibilities

• Operations Leadership & Monitoring
  • Serve as the senior technical resource during assigned shifts
  • Monitor and manage electrical, mechanical, and environmental systems
  • Lead response to alarms, events, and abnormal conditions
  • Conduct detailed facility walkthroughs and validate system performance
  • Lead shift turnovers and status communications
• Electrical & Mechanical Systems Execution
  • Operate and maintain UPS, generators, switchgear, ATS/STS, PDUs, and RPPs
  • Operate and support chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, and valves
  • Execute system switching, load transfers, and isolations per approved procedures
  • Identify system deficiencies and single points of failure
• Maintenance & Change Management
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Review, validate, and execute MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs
  • Participate in change management and risk assessments
  • Oversee vendor activities and verify post-maintenance restoration
• Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Enforce LOTO, electrical safety, arc-flash, and PPE requirements
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain and review operational logs and maintenance records
  • Contribute to procedures and technical documentation
• Training, Mentorship & Development
  • Mentor junior technicians and new hires
  • Support qualification programs and skill assessments

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in data center or mission-critical operations
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to read one-line diagrams and OEM documentation
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field
• Industry or OEM certifications
• Experience with BMS, EPMS, DCIM, and CMMS platforms
• Prior leadership or acting-lead experience
• Safety and risk management mindset
• Strong technical judgment and leadership presence
• Clear communication and accountability
• Continuous improvement mindset
