Job summary

Ascent, LLC is seeking a seasoned Data Center Technician to join our team as part of a mission-critical operations group. The role focuses on testing, commissioning, and diagnosing BAS, EPMS, and DCIM systems while ensuring optimal performance of data center environments.

You will analyze communications, design configurations for BAS/EPMS, and lead network setups (TCP/IP and RS-485) on controls devices. The position requires strong collaboration, documentation, and client-facing SME capabilities.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as a Data Center Technician, Controls Technician or related experience.
• High School Diploma required; Certification as a Controls Technician, Instrumentation Technician or similar field preferred.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Knowledge of BACNET/LON/MODBUS protocols.

Responsibilities

• Test, commission, and diagnose BAS/EPMS/DCIM systems.
• Analyze and optimize communication issues with BMS, EPMS, DCIM systems.
• Assist in design and configuration of BAS and EPMS per contract docs.
• Lead TCP/IP network and RS-485 configurations on controls devices.
• Complete and track project documentation and build trend logs.
• Work with facility technicians and building operators to implement changes in operating data center environments.
• Act as SME for client sites.
• Lead coordination with vendors, clients, project managers, and teams.
• Work according to project timelines and required processes.
