Job summary

Ascent, LLC seeks a Lead Systems Specialist (Controls & Automation) to support mission-critical data center environments. The role involves testing, commissioning, and diagnosing BAS/EPMS/DCIM systems, and leading network configurations for TCP/IP and RS-485 on controls devices.

You will coordinate with technicians, clients, and project teams, maintain documentation, and ensure safety practices on site. This is a travel-heavy, full-time position reporting to the Technical Project Manager,

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data center, controls tech, or related roles.
• Knowledge of BMS and Building Automation systems.
• Familiar with BACNET/LON/MODBUS protocols and TCP/IP networks.
• Experience with DDC/PLC ladder logic preferred.
• Proficient with Windows 10 and office software; able to read Visio drawings.

Responsibilities

• Test, commission, and diagnose BAS/EPMS/DCIM systems.
• Analyze and optimize communication among BMS/EPMS/DCIM.
• Design and configure BAS and EPMS per contract docs.
• Lead TCP/IP and RS-485 network configurations on controls devices.
• Create project documentation, trend logs, and closeout docs.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, PMs, and teams; track progress.
