Job summary

Ascent, LLC is seeking a Data Center Technician / Controls Technician to support BAS, EPMS and DCIM systems at client sites. You will test, diagnose, and optimize building management systems, lead network configurations, and produce precise project documentation.

The role requires 4+ years in similar settings, strong communication, and the ability to travel as needed. Ascent offers a full benefits package and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as Data Center Technician, Controls Technician or related role.
• High School Diploma required; Controls/Instrumentation/Electronics certification preferred.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and relevant protocols.
• Familiar with TCP/IP and RS-485 networks; ability to read drawings/Visio files.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to work on-site and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Test, commission, and diagnose BAS systems including DCIM, Electrical, HVAC.
• Analyze and optimize communication issues with BMS/EPMS/DCIM systems.
• Assist design/config of BAS and EPMS per contract docs.
• Lead TCP/IP network and RS-485 configurations on controls devices.
• Complete and track project docs, build trend logs, data entry.
• Produce as-builts with updated markups and closeout docs.
• Coordinate with technicians, clients, vendors and project managers.
• Ensure safety and adhere to project timelines and processes.
• Act as SME for client sites; maintain professional on-site presence.
