Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Principal Systems Integration Engineer to join our R&D team as the senior technical authority responsible for defining the future of Crusoe’s data center architecture. You will evaluate next-generation technologies, collaborate with startups and researchers, and lead system-level integration from pilot-scale validation to hyperscale deployment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in data center design, large-scale infrastructure, hyperscale computing environments, or industrial power systems.
• Systems thinking across electrical power, mechanical/thermal, compute, and facilities.
• Working knowledge spanning power generation and distribution, cooling technologies (including direct liquid cooling), data center facility design, and compute/networking infrastructure.
• Experience evaluating technologies, feasibility studies, or architectural explorations with startups, research institutions, and emerging technology providers.
• Experience authoring system-level architecture documents, interface specifications, and integration standards for complex multi-disciplinary programs.
• Cross-functional leadership to influence engineering teams across boundaries without direct authority.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of next-generation data center reference architectures that integrate across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and compute domains.
• Evaluate how emerging technologies reshape design assumptions and define the architectural path from pilot-scale validation through hyperscale deployment.
• Define and maintain the systems-level architecture that governs Crusoe’s infrastructure interfaces and co-optimization.
• Guide technologies through bench-scale evaluation to production deployment with clear milestones for readiness.
• Serve as the principal technical voice within R&D on infrastructure architecture and feasibility assessments.
• Author high-level system specifications, interface control documents, and design standards for future platforms.
• Partner with engineering teams as R&D’s primary technical interface to translate evaluations into system-wide implications.
• Build and maintain technical relationships with industry providers, startups, OEMs, and researchers.
• Advise leadership on technology choices aligning with Crusoe’s long-term growth.
