Job summary

Prime Data Centers is seeking an experienced Senior Data Center Security Manager to lead physical security operations across multiple data center locations within a defined region. You will ensure policy consistency, supervise site Security Managers, and coordinate with operations and facilities teams to safeguard personnel, customers, and critical infrastructure.

The role requires multi-site leadership in data centers or mission-critical environments, with up to 40% travel and a 24/7 operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of physical security experience, or an Associate’s degree with 7+ years
• Minimum 8 years of operational or physical security experience.
• 3+ years of security leadership experience.
• Experience managing security operations across multiple locations.
• Experience managing security vendors, contractors, and internal/external stakeholders.
• Strong experience with incident response, investigations, risk assessments, and physical security systems.
• Ability to travel up to 40% within the assigned region.

Responsibilities

• Oversee physical security operations across multiple data center locations within the assigned region.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to site Security Managers and security teams.
• Ensure consistent implementation of security policies, standards, post orders, and SOPs across all assigned locations.
• Oversee access control, CCTV, alarm systems, perimeter security, visitor management, and other physical security systems.
• Manage regional contract security operations, including staffing, training, vendor performance, and corrective actions.
• Lead response and investigations for significant security incidents and ensure appropriate documentation and corrective actions.
• Conduct security assessments and identify risks, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.
• Partner with Operations, Facilities, Engineering, Construction, and other teams to support security requirements and operational readiness.
• Support new data center construction, expansions, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain relationships with local law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other emergency response organizations.
• Support customer security requirements, audits, and assessments.
• Track regional security performance, incidents, staffing, projects, and key security metrics.
• Provide regular updates to the Director of Physical Security regarding regional risks, incidents, and operational performance.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Center Security Manager to oversee physical security operations across multiple data center locations within an assigned region. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent security standards, supporting site Security Managers, managing security vendors, overseeing incident response, and protecting personnel, customers, facilities, and critical infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have strong multi-site security leadership experience and a background in data centers, critical infrastructure, or other mission-critical environments.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of physical security experience, or Associate’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 8 years of operational or physical security experience.
• 3+ years of security leadership experience.
• Experience managing security operations across multiple locations.
• Experience managing security vendors, contractors, and internal/external stakeholders.
• Strong experience with incident response, investigations, risk assessments, and physical security systems.
• Ability to travel up to 40% within the assigned region.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in data centers, critical infrastructure, or similar mission-critical environments.
• Experience managing regional or multi-site security programs.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar compliance frameworks.
• Experience supporting data center construction and commissioning.
• Knowledge of Genetec Security Center is a plus.
• CPP, PSP, or similar professional security certification preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

This role includes office-based work and regular travel between data center locations. The Senior Data Center Security Manager must be comfortable supporting 24/7 operations and responding to significant security incidents when necessary.

• Competitive salary rangeof $110,000 to 130,000 and performance bonus program
