Job summary

IREN is a vertically integrated AI Cloud provider delivering large-scale data centers and GPU clusters. The Senior Project Manager owns the trades within a data center build, from front-end engineering through commissioning, with day-to-day direction to the Project Manager and a focus on schedule, cost, quality and coordination to support rapid growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of data center industry experience.
• 5+ years of proven project management and people leadership on mid to large data center projects of similar complexity to IREN’s.
• Qualifications in an engineering discipline, or demonstrable experience and technical knowledge in data center infrastructure.
• Deep technical expertise in at least one trade (see preferred qualifications below).
• Executive presence and reporting: proven ability to document and communicate project risks, schedule and budget clearly and consistently to senior leadership, in writing and in person.
• Experience in a fast-paced growth environment and in solving complex problems with company-wide impact.
• OSHA 30.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Project start-up and front-end engineering: manage front-end engineering for assigned trades and coordinate site layout constraints.
• Contracting: oversee subcontractor scope, input into structure and technical scope of subcontracts.
• Procurement support: assist long-lead equipment identification and capex planning.
• Handover: facilitate transition from development to execution teams for assigned trades.
• Develop trade-level PM plans and schedules with budget-tracking processes.
• Scope management: ensure contractor obligations are clear and documented.
• Design reviews: lead constructability reviews with design teams and capture lessons for improvements.
• RFI management: own RFI process for assigned trades and drive prompt resolution.
• Manage the trade program within the master schedule and optimize contractor strategies.
• Monitor look-ahead planning for scope, capex and long-lead equipment.
• Lead risk assessments and maintain a risk register for trades.
• Cost management: forecast risks and variances and communicate with the Project Director.
• Quality & HSE: drive KPIs, close non-conformances, ensure inductions and training.
• Commissioning readiness: oversee vendor start-up and system testing for assigned trades.
• Communication: run project control meetings and provide concise status updates to leadership.
• Developing PMs: guide performance feedback and development plans.
• Continual improvement: contribute to lessons learned and process enhancements.
