Job summary

Allied Resources Technical Consultants seeks a Senior Project Director to lead large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects along the East Coast. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten years in the AEC industry with significant mission critical or data center experience.
  • Proven experience delivering hyperscale, colocation, enterprise data center, or other high-availability facilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and financial forecasting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead one or multiple mission critical construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
  • Develop and implement project execution strategies to meet schedule, budget, quality, safety, and operational goals.
  • Manage project teams including PMs, engineers, superintendents, commissioning staff, consultants, and trade partners.
  • Oversee budgets, forecasting, cost controls, profitability, and monthly financial reporting.
  • Direct procurement strategies for long-lead equipment like generators, switchgear, UPS, cooling systems.
  • Establish and maintain project schedules and drive accountability among stakeholders.
  • Lead contract negotiations, subcontractor agreements, and commercial risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, commissioning standards, safety regulations, and quality processes.
  • Build and maintain executive-level client relationships as primary contact during execution.
  • Lead pursuits, proposals, interviews, and business development in the mission critical market.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

Senior Project Director, Data Center | Allied Resources Technical Consultants

About the Position:

Allied Resources is seeking a Senior Project Director to lead the delivery of large-scale data center and mission critical construction projects throughout the East Coast region. This leadership position will oversee hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center programs from planning through commissioning and turnover. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex MEP-intensive facilities, leading high-performing teams, maintaining client relationships, and driving successful project execution in uptime-sensitive environments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead one or multiple mission critical construction projects, overseeing all phases from preconstruction through commissioning and final turnover.
  • Develop and implement project execution strategies that support schedule, budget, quality, safety, and operational objectives.
  • Manage project teams including project managers, engineers, superintendents, commissioning personnel, consultants, and trade partners.
  • Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, profitability, and monthly financial reporting.
  • Direct procurement strategies for long-lead equipment including generators, switchgear, UPS systems, cooling equipment, and other critical infrastructure.
  • Establish and maintain project schedules while driving accountability across all stakeholders.
  • Lead contract negotiations, subcontractor agreements, and commercial risk management efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, commissioning standards, safety regulations, and quality management processes.
  • Build and maintain executive-level client relationships while serving as the primary point of contact throughout project execution.
  • Lead pursuit activities, proposal development, interviews, and business development efforts within the mission critical marketplace.
  • Conduct project risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to protect project outcomes.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship, and performance management for project staff.
  • Coordinate phased turnovers, startup activities, commissioning programs, and project closeout deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support seamless project planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, and warranty services.
  • Promote a collaborative team culture focused on operational excellence, continuous improvement, accountability, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline preferred. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience within the AEC industry with significant mission critical or data center project experience.
  • Proven experience delivering hyperscale, colocation, enterprise data center, or other high-availability facilities.
  • Strong understanding of mission critical MEP systems including power distribution, cooling infrastructure, redundancy systems, and commissioning processes.
  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale construction programs with aggressive schedules and complex stakeholder requirements.
  • Experience overseeing integrated project delivery, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities.
  • Strong financial management, contract administration, and forecasting experience.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and team development skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly to project sites throughout the East Coast region.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and large project teams preferred.
