Job summary

The Weitz Company in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Sr. Pre-Construction Manager to lead the preconstruction process on data center projects, including Day 2 and Mission Critical initiatives.

This role will manage the bid, estimating, scheduling, risk analysis, and design phase coordination to set up projects for successful delivery. You will mentor a project team, liaise with design partners, and ensure smooth handoffs to operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of estimating and/or project management experience in construction.
• Experience leading others, mentoring and developing teams.
• Data center project experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain client relationships to support business development and repeat work.
• Lead full preconstruction process including estimating, scheduling, constructability reviews, and value analysis.
• Provide accurate estimates, feasibility studies, and subcontractor engagement.
• Oversee design-phase progress, ensuring alignment with scope and budget.
• Coordinate preconstruction activities across internal departments and stakeholders.
• Ensure smooth transition from preconstruction to construction and handoff meetings.
