Job summary

OpenAI seeks a senior Electrical Infrastructure Engineer to lead development of reliable, scalable power architectures for high-density, liquid-cooled AI data centers. You will translate compute needs into facility and rack-power solutions, review designs, and validate reliability across design, lab, and field deployments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities such as data centers.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with MV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize electrical topologies and equipment strategies for cost, speed, efficiency, and reliability.
• Review basis-of-design documents, diagrams, equipment specs, commissioning plans, and power system studies.
• Lead evaluation of vendors, submittals, and test reports for critical infrastructure.
• Evaluate AC/DC distribution options for high-density compute and rack power delivery.
• Coordinate with mechanical, cooling, controls, hardware, and operations teams for liquid-cooled deployments.
• Drive FAT, SAT, reliability testing, and integrated system testing for deployments.
