Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Operations Specialist Principal to advance enterprise IT operations.

You will manage, troubleshoot, and resolve critical datacenter issues, install and maintain hardware across storage, servers, patch panels, switches and routers, and leverage Linux for troubleshooting. The role requires a TS/SCI with active polygraph clearance, a related bachelor's degree, and 5+ years in IT systems/networks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience in IT infrastructure and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline.
• 5 years of experience working with computer systems and networks, specifically Linux.
• Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting servers, switches, etc.).
• Any 8140 certification, or willingness to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with active polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, troubleshoot and resolve critical issues in the datacenter.
• Install and maintain data center server hardware, including storage, servers, patch panels, switches and routers.
• Assist with Linux command line for troubleshooting and configuration.
• Participate in on-call rotations and shift work.
• Contribute to disaster recovery drills and procedures.
• Provide cleared escort for personnel needing access.
• Light shipping and receiving.
