Job summary

Data Center Operator Client is seeking an experienced facilities technician to operate and maintain critical mechanical and electrical systems in live data centers across multiple locations. The role emphasizes hands-on work in mission-critical environments with shift rotations.

You will read one-line diagrams and control drawings, follow detailed MOPs/SOPs, and coordinate with vendors during critical tasks. This client operates 24/7 in Ellendale ND, Dallas TX, and Northern Virginia.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on mechanical and/or electrical experience in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Ability to read one-line diagrams, schematics, and control drawings.
• Willingness to work in live environments and participate in on-call rotations.
• Certifications such as NFPA 70E, OSHA, EPA or equivalent are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical systems: chillers, CRAC/CRAH, cooling towers, pumps, air handlers, and BMS controls.
• Operate and maintain electrical distribution: UPS, switchgear, generators, ATS, PDUs, and breakers; perform switching operations.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to OEM and site standards.
• Follow MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs on live equipment.
• Respond to alarms and incidents; participate in an on-call/shift rotation.
• Maintain logs, asset records, and CMMS entries.
• Escort and oversee vendors during critical work.
