Job summary

Ensono seeks a Data Center Operations Analyst to monitor and manage MVS zSeries/VM environments, ensuring batch throughput and reliable processing for client environments. You will handle incident documentation, turnover, and change management while providing professional client communication.

The role is onsite in Weehawken, NJ with 12-hour shifts and weekend/holiday coverage. Relevant mainframe experience and ITSM knowledge are essential for success in this fast-paced, client-facing team.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of related experience.
• 5+ years IT experience with system monitoring.
• Proficient in MS Office and strong communications.
• ITSM concepts including incident/change management and SLAs.
• Knowledge of mainframe tools and server scripts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor internal/external MVS zSeries and VM/VSE environments to meet SLAs.
• Communicate professionally with customers and document turnover.
• Document deviations in the incident system with clear details.
• Escalate events impacting service levels promptly.
• Ensure IPL, maintenance and backups as scheduled.
• Document and approve changes in Change Management tools.
• Follow procedures; update SharePoint docs as needed.
• Organize tasks to work independently; provide hands-on support.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Operations management.
• Communicate during critical or major events to stakeholders.

About the role and what you'll be doing:

A Data Center Operations Analyst is responsible for system monitoring, production batch monitoring, workload throughput as well as batch and system task abend recovery for internal and external client MVS / ZOS / VM/VSE environments.

• Primary Tools : TWS OPC, BMC Ops AMI, zCAM, Mainview, Control-D, Mainframe Console & HMC (Must)
• Ticketing Tools : Service Now / ATLAS
• Work from Client location at Weehawken (NJ)
• Schedule information:
• 12 hour “quad” (3 on 3 off/4 on 4 off) shifts (Nights and/or Days).
• 16 week rotation from front half to back half of week.
• Weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday) and Holidays required as per Shift Schedule.

Key Areas of Focus for this Role

• Monitor and manage internal and external MVS zSeries and VM/VSE environments to ensure production processing meets internal and external client agreed service levels and requirements.
• High level of interaction with internal and external customers requires effective and professional communication.
• Complete daily shift turnover and customer checklists associated with assigned client environment. Along with written shift turnover, verbal turnover must be facilitated.
• Thoroughly document deviations within company’s designated Incident Management tool, reflecting clear and tangible details surrounding each incident.
• Properly elevate all events or incidents that may impact our ability to meet agreed service levels.
• Ensure system IPL, maintenance and backup processes are successfully performed according to predetermined schedule and per established procedures.
• Ensure all operations related changes are properly documented and approved in company designated Change Management tool prior to Follow-up and close completed changes with valid and meaningful data.
• Adhere to company documented processing procedures for internal and external clients, as well as suggesting and requesting updates and improvements as needed to internal Operations SharePoint documentation repository.
• Organize tasks to work independently.
• Hands and feet support as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or designated by Operations management.
• Communication to stakeholder in critical /major events

Required Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in IT and with system monitoring.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Strong written / verbal Communication skills
• ITSM Concepts – Incident/Change/Requests/ SLAs
• Analytical and Critical thinking skills
• Ability to represent Ensono in a professional manner to clients
• Knowledge and recent experience with mainframe (TSO, SDSF, TWS, QuickRef) and server scripts (read & code Midrange/Distributed/NDM/File Transfer server knowledge)
• This role is onsite in Weehawken, NJ. If you're open to being onsite in our client office but aren't local to the area, we're able to provide some relocation support.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this role is $21.00 - $36.00 hourly based on a full-time schedule. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs. In addition to base salary, other compensation programs, depending on eligibility, include an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, and an equity grant under our Associate Equity Appreciation Program.
