ARCO/Murray Engineering seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical scope for hyperscale data centers in Downers Grove, IL. You will drive cooling system design, redundancy strategies, and coordination with electrical and controls teams to deliver reliable, scalable facilities.

Qualifications include 7–20 years in data-center mechanical engineering, a bachelor’s in engineering, and proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

7–20 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in data centers or mission‑critical systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
Willingness to travel 10–30% to project sites.

Responsibilities

Lead the mechanical design process for mission‑critical data centers, including cooling systems and redundancy.
Guide system development from concept through construction documentation and turnover.
Apply ASHRAE TC 9.9 guidance to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Perform cooling load calculations, CFD coordination, and equipment sizing.
Coordinate with electrical, controls, and architectural teams for system integration and 2N redundancy.
Generate design and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
Support construction during RFIs, submittals, and field conditions.
