Job summary

Apple Inc. seeks a Senior Hardware Systems Engineer for Data Center HWE in Sunnyvale. You will own the system-level requirements, interfaces, and documentation across a multi-disciplinary hardware program, coordinating with PCB, rack, power, storage, networking, mechanical, firmware, and software teams.

You’ll drive early requirements, ensure testable specifications, and align teams to a common system view, with experience in defense/aerospace or similar complex domains valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Systems, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of systems engineering on complex hardware programs with shipping experience.
• Proven ownership of system-level documentation (requirements, interfaces, V&V, traceability).
• Strong written and verbal communication with cross-domain alignment capability.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain system-level hardware requirements for Apple’s infrastructure platforms.
• Write and own system requirements specs, interface definitions, V&V plans, and traceability.
• Own trade studies for platform decisions across rack architecture, power, networking, and storage.
• Deliver precise requirements to subsystems and external suppliers with clarity.
• Drive alignment across hardware, firmware, software and operations teams.
