Job summary

AMD’s Data Center Accelerated Computing team seeks an experienced Test Engineer to develop and deploy manufacturing test solutions for GPUs used in AI, ML, and HPC applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to deliver scalable test strategies, validation infrastructure, and product improvements that impact yield, cost, and efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on data center system testing, hardware/software debugging, and manufacturing test development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Strong data center system test, hardware validation, and debugging experience.
• Proficiency with Python programming and Bash or shell scripting.
• Knowledge of IPMI, PCIe, BMC, and thermal solutions.
• Experience debugging issues across hardware, software, device, and manufacturing domains.
• Solid working knowledge of Linux or UNIX operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing test strategies for new product features, including test fixtures, equipment, and diagnostic software.
• Define scalable board- and system-level hardware test solutions and processes.
• Review product designs during early development stages and provide Design for Testability (DFT) recommendations.
• Develop test content, diagnostic tools, and automation solutions using Python and other scripting languages.
• Contribute to automated diagnostic generation and validation infrastructure.
• Debug complex hardware, software, device, and manufacturing issues during product build and production phases.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and manufacturing partners to improve yield, reduce cost, increase test efficiency, and resolve quality issues.
• Evaluate and introduce new manufacturing test technologies, tools, and methodologies.
• Lead resolution of complex technical problems and mentor junior engineers as needed.
