DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior Data Center Engineer to design, build, and scale reliable data center infrastructure for its cloud and AI platform. Based in Kansas City, this onsite role involves managing complex hardware deployments, mentoring junior staff, and leading site-wide operational improvements.

You will own GPU and AI infrastructure deployments, troubleshoot hardware and Linux systems, and drive performance metrics while mentoring technicians on shift patterns and incident reviews.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience, plus 3 years of experience troubleshooting IT systems.
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting GPU hardware at scale for AI workloads.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure hardware deployment and troubleshooting across networking, hardware, and Linux operating systems.
• Proficient with bash scripting and Linux command line.
• Working knowledge of data center power, cooling, cabling standards, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs and work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsabilidades

• Own complex deployments from start to finish, including GPU and AI infrastructure, servers, network, and storage hardware
• Serve as an escalation point for troubleshooting complex and recurring hardware, network, GPU, and Linux OS issues
• Lead reviews of data center events and incidents, using data to find root causes and drive timely resolution
• Write, review, and approve operational documentation, runbooks, and procedures
• Track and report on operational metrics, recommend improvements, and mentor Data Center Technicians and Engineers
