Job summary

Google Data Center Operations is seeking a Plant Engineer with senior electrical qualifications to lead critical plant troubleshooting and commissioning. You will oversee HV/LV equipment, support energy efficiency initiatives, and ensure safe, reliable operation of data center infrastructure.

You will work across CMMS/BMS platforms, manage routine maintenance, and mentor junior staff while adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements in a demanding data center environment.

Qualifications

• 7 years of Electrical experience in industrial or commercial environment.
• Ability to participate in material handling tasks up to 50 lbs with PPE.
• Ability to work non-standard hours and shifts.
• City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification (or equivalent NVQ Level 3) with ECS Gold Card and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership for critical system troubleshooting and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Operate critical plant equipment as authorized by facilities manager.
• Coordinate input for global facilities programs (CMMS, BMS, energy savings, training, thermography).
