Job summary

Mackinnon Bruce International is partnering with a leading global infrastructure developer to appoint an experienced Electrical Engineer to support large-scale data center projects across the United States.

This role delivers electrical design, specification, and delivery, working with development and project teams to meet performance, quality, budget, and timeline targets. You will mentor juniors and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (BSc or MSc).
• 10+ years in electrical/building services design for data centers.
• Experience leading RFQ/RFP processes and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of electrical protection and grading studies.

Responsibilities

• Support development teams with RFPs, RFIs, and technical submissions.
• Lead electrical design delivery from concept through to construction.
• Review contractor designs to identify risks, gaps, and non-conformances.
• Specify and evaluate electrical equipment aligned to client requirements.
• Provide technical oversight throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with performance standards and project specifications.
• Contribute to optimisation, efficiency, and continuous improvement post-delivery.
• Manage design coordination, approvals, and stakeholder engagement.
• Support feasibility and due diligence for new developments.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development.
