Job summary

Jacobs in the United States is seeking a Commissioning Specialist to lead electrical commissioning activities on data center projects. You will perform QA/QC testing, equipment start-up, and ensure safety and design compliance while coordinating with owners, clients, and contractors.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 10+ years in electrical commissioning, NFPA/NETA/NICET knowledge, ability to travel up to 50%, and preference for candidates near the Washington DC or Northern VA area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience as an electrical commissioning specialist in electrical power systems and facility O&M.
• 2-3 years leading L4/L5 testing for Data Center commissioning with documentation of L2/L3 activities.
• Knowledge of NFPA, NETA and NICET electrical testing and code requirements.
• Ability to travel up to 50% and US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite electrical commissioning activities including testing, QA/QC and start-up of equipment.
• Collaborate with owners, clients, and contractors to meet design requirements and stakeholder expectations.
• Oversee L0-L3 commissioning activities and support L4-L5 testing for Data Center projects.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance and operational performance of systems.
