Job summary

Eaton Corporation’s Distributed IT division seeks a Senior Design Engineer to lead the development and enhancement of Data Center Hot Aisle Containment solutions at our Worcester, MA site.

The role focuses on product architecture, mechanical design, testing, validation, and continuous improvement of modular containment systems for improved data center thermal performance, scalability, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• BSME from an accredited institution with minimum 3+ years of relevant experience OR Associate’s degree with advanced technical training and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in 3D parametric CAD modeling (Creo/Pro E strongly preferred).
• Experience with Data Center Hot Aisle Containment systems and related structural components.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of new Hot Aisle Containment product platforms through Eaton’s structured NPD process.
• Design and validate structural and sheet metal containment systems, including doors, panels, supports, and mounting interfaces.
• Create 3D CAD models and production drawings (Creo preferred).
• Perform engineering analysis, including structural calculations, FEA, and CFD.
• Define and execute verification and validation testing to ensure performance and compliance.
• Partner with Product Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Customers to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.
• Drive product standardization, quality improvements, modularization, and cost-reduction initiatives.
