Job summary

Actalent in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead non-IT construction and data-center projects on-site. You will plan, schedule, manage budgets, personnel, and safety while coordinating with general contractors and vendors to deliver milestones.

The role requires 5+ years of construction project leadership, proficiency with Primavera P6/Microsoft Project, and strong communication. This contract position offers onsite work and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
• PMI or PMP certification preferred.
• 810 years of overall project management and scheduling experience in construction or related non‑IT project environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate non-IT projects, including construction and engineering initiatives.
• Develop detailed project plans and schedules, define milestones, and direct integration of technical activities.
• Coordinate and lead daily activities on large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects.
• Present and explain project proposals, progress reports, findings, and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Recruit, assign, direct, and evaluate project team members and oversee staff competence.
• Collaborate with general contractors, trade partners, vendors, operations teams, and stakeholders to align goals.
• Analyze technology options, resource needs, and market demand to plan feasibility and inform decisions.
• Confer with management to define project specifications, procedures, and priorities.
• Review and approve contracts, cost estimates, and change orders to ensure financial control.
• Utilize scheduling and project control tools to track milestones and critical path.
• Monitor production, quality control, and costs to support construction and distribution.
• Lead commissioning activities and ensure turnover from construction to operations.
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies to protect schedule and budget.
• Resolve field technical issues with design and construction teams.
• Conduct schedule reviews, analyze variances, and develop recovery plans.
• Lead meetings, document decisions, and ensure follow-up closures.
• Prepare clear project documentation for executives and field teams.
• Support project turnover from construction to steady-state operations.
• Ensure safety, quality, and policy compliance throughout all phases.
