Engineering Economics, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Specialist to lead commissioning and testing of mechanical systems in data centers and other high-reliability facilities. You will guide field execution, review drawings, and mentor junior staff to deliver reliable outcomes.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in mechanical systems, strong HVAC knowledge, and experience in mission-critical environments. This role requires travel up to 75% and a hybrid work setting with field site inspections.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in mechanical systems, commissioning, facilities operations, or related technical field.
• Advanced working knowledge of HVAC, cooling infrastructure, and related mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and operation sequences.
• Advanced understanding of MEP systems and building operations.
• Ability to lead commissioning activities and guide field execution.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, coordination, and teamwork.
• Proficiency with MS Office and commissioning documentation tools.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex commissioning, testing, and verification activities for mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities and data centers.
• Guide field execution, functional testing, startup support, and closeout across mechanical scopes.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and drive resolution with project teams and stakeholders.
• Review drawings, specs, trend data, test results to evaluate readiness and performance.
• Communicate commissioning status, risks, findings, and recommendations with clients and teams.
• Mentor Mechanical Specialists and provide field coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to safe, reliable, high-quality project delivery in fast-paced environments.
