Job summary

EEI is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Specialist to lead commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting for mechanical systems in data centers and mission-critical facilities. You will guide field execution, review performance data, and drive issue resolution in collaboration with clients, contractors, and project teams.

The role emphasizes leadership, documentation, and mentoring of junior staff, with travel up to 75% and a hybrid work setting supporting field visits and office work.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in mechanical systems, commissioning, facilities operations, engineering, construction, maintenance, or related technical field.
• Advanced working knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, cooling infrastructure, controls, and related mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, technical documentation, trend data, and system information.
• Advanced understanding of MEP systems, controls, and integrated building operations.
• Ability to lead assigned commissioning activities, guide field execution, and elevate complex technical or project issues appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex commissioning, testing, and verification activities for mechanical systems supporting mission-critical facilities and data centers.
• Guide field execution, functional performance testing, startup support, and closeout activities across assigned mechanical scopes.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical system issues and drive practical resolution with project teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Review drawings, specifications, trend data, test results, and system information to evaluate readiness and performance.
• Communicate commissioning status, risks, findings, and recommendations clearly with clients, contractors, and internal project teams.
• Mentor Mechanical Specialists and Mechanical Support team members through field coaching, documentation review, and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to safe, reliable, and high-quality project delivery in fast-paced mission-critical environments.
