Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Data Center Architect to assess and modernize IT infrastructure in the National Capital Region. You will evaluate facilities for upgrade or replacement and guide on facility infrastructure and systems architecture.

The role requires expert knowledge of data center power, UPS, generators, and Uptime Institute Tier Standards, with strong security/compliance experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field with minimum 10+ yrs experience.
• Clearance Level: Active TS/SCI
• Must successfully complete additional customer security eligibility, and/or compatibility determinations/requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess data centers to determine upgrade, modernization, or replacement requirements.
• Provide guidance on facility infrastructure, systems architecture, and compliance with industry standards.
• Develop assessment reports with technical justifications and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with facility managers, network engineers, and leadership to align findings with mission needs.
• Identify risks, gaps, and deficiencies in data center operations and propose mitigation.
