Job summary

N-iX is seeking a Senior Data Backend Engineer (Kotlin) to join a new engagement with a leading European fintech company. You will design scalable backend services in Kotlin and own API layers for internal and customer-facing products.

You will work at the intersection of backend engineering and data platforms, integrating analytical data and building solutions with BigQuery and OLAP layers, in an agile team environment.

Qualifications

• Kotlin experience in production environments.
• BigQuery in production environments.
• Experience with OLAP serving layers and analytical queries.
• Strong background in backend architecture and API design.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering best practices.
• Professional level of English.
• Currently based in the European Union.

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Kotlin.

• Professional level of English.
• Currently based in the European Union.

Nice to have:

• AWS and/or GCP.
• Experience with REST and/or gRPC APIs.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
