Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the design, governance, and evolution of our enterprise data architecture. You will own the data platform roadmap and collaborate with Enterprise and Solution Architects on customer initiatives, ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency.

The role requires 10+ years in IT, hands-on cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), strong SQL and Python, and a deep understanding of TOGAF and data governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in an IT-related field.
• 3+ years leading data/architecture teams.
• Hands-on with leading cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Experience with data governance policies, rules, and processes.
• Familiarity with TOGAF and enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines and IaC concepts.
• Knowledge of data observability, monitoring, and alerting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, governance, and evolution of enterprise data architecture.
• Provide subject matter expertise on enterprise data management and analytics practices.
• Oversee data engineering teams and align pipelines with governance frameworks.
• Enforce data governance processes, ensuring data quality, security, and access.
• Partner with enterprise and solution architects on customer initiatives.
• Own performance, scalability, and roadmap of the enterprise data platform.
• Translate business needs into data architecture solutions with stakeholders.
• Establish and manage enterprise data modeling practices.
• Define and enforce data standards across domains.
