Job summary

SteerBridge is seeking a senior technical leader to own the enterprise data architecture and act as the Technical Product Owner for the Modern Disability Claims data pipeline. The role blends hands-on architectural direction with product prioritization, backlog decisions, sprint delivery accountability, and mentorship for Scrum teams.

The successful candidate will translate mission priorities into scalable designs, communicate with SteerBridge and VA stakeholders, and guide data-engineering

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship or ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 6+ years data architecture, 2+ years hands-on Product Owner experience with backlog and Scrum.
• Enterprise-scale data architecture ownership in a cloud environment.
• Experience prioritizing technical product backlogs and guiding sprint execution.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; Pandas, PySpark, Git experience.
• Experience with Databricks/Redshift/BigQuery/Snowflake or similar platforms.
• Ability to brief executives and government stakeholders; hybrid work in Vienna, VA (3+ days onsite).

Responsibilities

• Own target-state data architecture for claims, clinical, and healthcare data.
• Prioritize technical backlog; define epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Lead data engineering Scrum teams; guide sprint planning and reviews.
• Mentor MDC Scrum teams; improve backlog refinement and delivery discipline.
• Design scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, data quality, lineage, and governance.
• Direct cloud platform architecture across AWS, Azure, or GCP and data warehouses/lakes.
• Ensure access controls and compliance with federal/healthcare data handling.
• Enable analytics/AI/ML use cases via governed data infrastructure.
