Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a senior data architect to lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-scale data platforms supporting Financial Crime, Risk, and Regulatory functions. You will drive modernization, build Lakehouse patterns, and mentor engineering teams across cloud environments.

The role requires deep experience in data modeling, governance, and secure architectures, with collaboration across business and risk stakeholders to deliver resilient, compliant data products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• At least 10 years experience with the concepts, philosophies and tools behind the design of applications, information and underlying information technologies.
• At least 10 years experience with developing and implementing applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-scale Financial Crime, Risk, Compliance, and Regulatory data platforms.
• Drive modernization initiatives by migrating legacy data ecosystems to cloud-native and Databricks-based architectures.
• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support data quality, scalability, governance, and long-term business objectives.
• Partner with business leaders, product owners, engineering teams, and risk stakeholders to translate complex requirements into strategic technology solutions.
• Define enterprise architecture standards, reference architectures, and best practices for data ingestion, transformation, storage, lineage, governance, and consumption.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that improve performance, resiliency, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, Security, and Risk teams to build secure, highly available, and resilient data products and services.
• Mentor architects, engineers, and technical teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
