Job summary

SMX is seeking a Senior Data Architect to design and optimize the enterprise data warehouse supporting critical national and federal projects. You will lead data architecture, modeling, and the development of scalable data pipelines across AWS cloud services and Databricks.

Responsibilities include governance, stakeholder collaboration, and guiding development teams while modernizing the technology stack for improved analytics and decision-making in a government-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS, Engineering, IS, or related field.
• 10+ years in BI, data warehousing, modeling and database design.
• Experience architecting data solutions in AWS cloud.
• Expertise in dimensional modeling for reporting/analytics.
• Hands-on with SQL Server and MariaDB.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall data architecture and design scalable data models and data marts.
• Lead data modeling and design of logical/physical database models.
• Oversee ETL/ELT pipelines consolidating data from multiple sources.
• Provide governance and ensure data integrity and quality across enterprise data assets.
• Assist cloud modernization and migration to platforms like Databricks and Data Lakes.
