Job summary

Dal-Tile Distribution, Inc. is seeking a Data Architect to define and execute the enterprise data architecture strategy, enabling analytics, reporting, governance, cloud modernization and AI initiatives.

You will partner with business and technology teams to deliver scalable and trusted data solutions across the enterprise while migrating from legacy systems to Azure-based technologies. The role requires experience with Azure data services, SAP data environments, and governance practices, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IS/Engineering/Data Management or related field.
• 6-8 years in Data/Enterprise Architecture, Data Engineering, Analytics or BI.
• Hands-on with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Storage, SQL, Power BI; dbt; Microsoft Fabric a plus.
• Experience leading legacy-to-cloud migrations across operational, analytical, SAP, API, and third-party sources.
• Experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA data environments and integration.
• Experience implementing Data Governance, Data Stewardship, Data Observability, Metadata Management, MDM, Data Lineage, privacy & security.
• Experience designing enterprise BI architectures with dimensional/semantic models and KPI frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain Dal-Tile's enterprise data and BI architecture strategy and roadmaps, including Azure migration.
• Establish standards for dbt, Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Storage, SQL, Power BI, semantic models, and governance; evaluate Microsoft Fabric where valuable.
• Lead architecture reviews and document decisions, reusable patterns and quality objectives.
• Architect data across enterprise apps, SAP, APIs, and third-party sources with governance, lineage, privacy and security practices.
• Create architecture diagrams, data models, interface designs, end-to-end lineage, and reporting standards.
• Partner with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, BI specialists and apps teams to deliver governed self-service analytics and trusted data products.
• Define governance guardrails for responsible use of generative AI and copilots; review AI outputs for security and naming standards.
• Evaluate AI-assisted capabilities across Power BI, SAP, Azure AI to support governance, semantic models and metadata discovery.
