Job summary

SMX is seeking a Senior Data Architect in Hartford to design and optimize an enterprise data warehouse that supports federal transportation analytics. You will own data models, data marts, and ETL strategies while guiding governance and cloud modernization.

Strong leadership and stakeholder collaboration are essential. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in BI/warehousing, expertise in AWS and Databricks, and hands-on SQL Server and MariaDB experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in BI, data warehousing, data modeling or database design.
• Experience architecting data solutions in AWS cloud.
• Strong SQL Server and MariaDB knowledge.
• Proven ETL/ELT design using SSIS, Python or Databricks.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and present to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise data architecture and scalable data models.
• Oversee ETL/ELT pipelines across critical systems and external sources.
• Lead data governance, quality and security practices with stakeholders.
• Guide migration to cloud platforms like Databricks and Data Lakes.
• Collaborate with federal leads and DoT stakeholders on analytics needs.
