Job summary

Great Dane is seeking a Data Architect to design and govern the enterprise data architecture for its Durable Hub and lead the IT Data Engineering team. The role owns the canonical data model, topology of data pipelines, and integration patterns across JDE, Salesforce, and other SaaS systems, aligning with AI-ready data products and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
• 7+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or related discipline; hands-on design of enterprise data platforms.
• Demonstrated experience with streaming architectures (Kafka/Confluent), lakehouse/medallion patterns, and ERP/CRM integration.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a data engineering team.
• Deep proficiency in data modeling, SQL, and stream processing; familiarity with dbt and cloud data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the IT Data Engineering team, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and workload prioritization.
• Own and evolve the Canonical Data Model and enterprise object model with a shared, machine-interpretable definition.
• Design end-to-end data pipeline topology for the central data hub (ingestion lanes, stream processing, medallion layers).
• Define integration patterns for source systems like JDE BSSV, Salesforce, and Tacton CPQ.
• Establish data modeling standards, event schemas, and immutability/replay principles.
• Design patterns supporting analytics, ML, AI, and agentic automation use cases.
• Define enterprise semantic models, metadata standards, glossaries, and knowledge representations.
• Establish standards for reusable data products consumed by reporting, models, and digital assistants.
• Partner with AI Architect to define lineage, explainability, privacy, and trust for AI data.
• Maintain architectural decision logs and document records for SharePoint and diagrams.
