Johnson Brothers Liquor Company is seeking a Senior Data Architect to shape our data and analytics strategy. You will define current-state, transition, and future-state architectures, guiding engineering teams across ingestion, storage, modeling, and governance.

Looking for a rewarding career? Johnson Brothers is a leading family-owned distributor of wine, spirits, and beer, delivering exceptional service since 1953. We proudly represent the world’s top beverage brands and are committed to excellence, innovation, and growth. Johnson Brothers offers exciting opportunities in a variety of areas. Join our passionate team and help shape the future of the beverage industry! Our enterprise data platform is evolving, our application landscape is changing, and our Enterprise Information Management (EIM) architecture practice is maturing along with it. We are looking for a Senior Data Architect who wants to help shape the future of data and analytics at Johnson Brothers. You will help establish the architectural principles, standards, patterns, and governance that guide how we manage and use data across the organization. You will also play a key role in defining our current, transition, and future-state architectures as we evolve from Azure Data Lake and Synapse toward Microsoft Fabric and OneLake, while integrating new enterprise platforms including Dynamics 365 F&O and Dataverse. This is not an ivory-tower architecture role. We are looking for someone who has built and implemented solutions, earned broader architecture responsibility, and can translate architectural direction into practical guidance for experienced engineering and technology teams.
Establish and mature EIM architecture principles, standards, reference patterns, and lightweight governance. Develop and maintain meaningful current-state, transition-state, and future-state architecture. Create a practical architecture library covering key standards, patterns, decisions, and reference architectures. Provide architectural direction as our data ecosystem evolves from Azure Data Lake and Synapse toward Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and Fabric Data Warehouse. Help define how Dynamics 365 F&O, Dataverse, Fabric, enterprise applications, integrations, and analytical platforms work together. Guide architecture across data ingestion, storage, transformation, modeling, analytics, metadata, lineage, cataloging, and governance. Provide architectural guidance for our developing Master Data Management and Data Quality capabilities, including technology evaluation and implementation. Establish and promote data modeling standards and reusable patterns. Partner with Data Engineers and other technology teams to translate architecture into implementable designs, review significant solutions, and resolve difficult technical problems. Mentor experienced engineers and help strengthen architectural and engineering practices across the team. Identify opportunities to simplify the technology landscape, encourage reuse, and reduce unnecessary complexity and technical debt.
The expected pay range for this role is $99,000- $168,000. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity, union status (where applicable) and alignment with market data.
