Job summary

Shelter Insurance in Columbia, Missouri is seeking a Senior Data Architect to design and implement the organization's data architecture, ensuring efficient data management, integration, and governance.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of data architecture experience, strong data modeling and database design skills, and proficiency with Snowflake, dbtLabs, Astronomer, and related tools, plus cloud platforms and data security knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience (10+ years) as a Data Architect or similar role with focus on design and implementation.
• Strong understanding of data modeling techniques, database design principles, and data management best practices.
• Proficiency in Snowflake, dbtLabs, Astronomer, Qlik Replicate and Relto is desired.
• Advanced proficiency in data modeling tools and languages (ERwin, ER/Studio, SQL, NoSQL).
• Experience with ETL/ELT data integration tools and platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
• Understanding of cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of GDPR and CCPA data privacy regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills to work with stakeholders.

Senior Data Architect $127,330 - $157,889 / year minimum starting pay

What You Will Be Doing:

• Design and implement the organization's data architecture to ensure efficient data management, data integration, and data governance.
• Play a critical role in defining and implementing a scalable and robust data infrastructure that supports the company's analytical and operational needs.
• This position requires expertise in data modeling, database design, and a deep understanding of data management principles.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience (10+ years) as a Data Architect or a similar role, with a focus on data architecture design and implementation typically required.
• Strong understanding of data modeling techniques, database design principles, and data management best practices.
• Proficiency in Snowflake, dbtLabs, Astronomer, Qlik Replicate and Relto is desired.
• Advanced Proficiency in data modeling tools and languages, such as ERwin, ER/Studio, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with data integration technologies, such as ETL/ELT tools and data integration platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management, and data lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding with cloud-based data platforms and technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Understanding of data security and privacy regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design scalable and robust data architectures.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to perform essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
