Job summary

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst to partner with leadership to translate complex data into actionable insights. You will design dashboards in Tableau, build reusable analytics assets, and guide data quality and reporting best practices across offices.

Responsibilities include collaborating with offices like Strategy and Engagement and Peer Review to inform decisions, developing scalable analytics infrastructure, and mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or related field, or equivalent knowledge.
• Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Six years of related professional experience with Tableau, data analysis, and visualizations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership and staff to understand business needs and define analytical questions.
• Design, build, test, publish, and maintain dashboards in Tableau and related BI platforms.
• Develop a unified analytics foundation for Tableau with reusable data assets and transformation logic.
• Maintain data assets and ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of datasets and models.
• Support data quality by documenting definitions, rules, and data sources; communicate issues clearly.
• Provide expert guidance to stakeholders on data interpretation and reporting approaches.
