Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union is seeking a data analytics professional to support Internal Audit through advanced data modeling, data cleaning, and visualization across lines of business. You will define data requirements, perform ETL, and deliver insights to leadership and risk partners.

The role requires 5-7 years of experience, strong SQL/Python/R skills, and a solid foundation in statistics, data governance, and ETL tools.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
• Complete knowledge and understanding of business area/specialization.
• Skill in data manipulation and scripting languages such as SQL, Python, or R, as well as advanced data cleaning and preprocessing techniques and tools.
• Effective skill with ETL tools and techniques, data cleaning, and other analytical techniques required for data usage.
• Advanced skill with statistical analysis such as measures of central tendency, normal distribution, variance, standard deviation, basic tests, correlation, and regression techniques.
• Advanced skill interpreting, extrapolating and interpolating data for statistical research and modeling.
• Knowledge of various data structures and ability to extract data sources (e.g., PySpark, PowerBI).
• Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices.
• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computers Science, Engineering, or degrees in similar quantitative fields.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex analytical and statistical modeling on large data sets to provide Internal Audit leadership, risk partners, and business unit Management with actionable intelligence and insights on key risks to business processes and controls.
• Define data requirements, perform data collection, processing, cleaning, analysis, modeling and visualization on systems and data from all lines of business.
• Lead complex data analysis projects with minimal supervision and wide latitude for independent judgment.
• Consult with audit teams and other stakeholders to advise on data analytics best-practices on audit engagements.
• Effectively manage projects from inception through deployment and maintenance.
