Job summary

Sharp Decisions is seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst for a hybrid role in Charlotte, NC and Jersey City, NJ. The position is a long-term contract requiring 7+ years of experience and strong SQL and Python skills.

You will gather, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources, collaborating with stakeholders and security teams. The candidate will work with Excel and BI tools, delivering data-driven insights and documentation for data sources and processing, while ensuring data quality

Qualifications

• Strong data analysis experience.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel or BI tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data issues and inconsistencies.
• Ability to interpret and analyze data in a business context.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Exposure to SQL and relational databases is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python is a plus.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather and organize data from internal systems, spreadsheets, and reports.
• Analyze trends, patterns, and business performance using Excel or BI tools.
• Analyze and understand data sources from upstream systems.
• Perform data scrubbing and data quality analysis.
• Create and document technical requirements related to data sources and data processing.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business and data requirements.
• Collaborate with data development teams supporting CyberDW data loads.
• Support data initiatives related to Data Security, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Encryption programs.
• Interpret data in a business context and communicate findings effectively.
• Work cross-functionally with business and technical teams.
