Primary Responsibilities
  1. Use technical skills to manipulate data using SQL, Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or other tools to provide actionable information to internal customers in support of their business goals by business & product line.
  2. Help build reporting and data visualizations to create data-driven analytics that drive strategies and measure interventions to ensure our populations achieve 4+ Star goals.
  3. Recommends and implements new or modified reporting methods and procedures to improve report content and completeness of information. Assists in testing new reports and ongoing support of existing solutions, including defect identification and resolution.
  4. Ensure completion of yearly projects in support of team-specific roadmap items that support business goals.
  5. Build best practice data quality monitoring to ensure all data/report products exceed customer expectations. Incorporate quality into the planning/design phases; build quality assurance activities; utilize data audits; identify and fix root causes vs short-term solutions.
  6. Design and review data structures for data management purposes with team.
  7. Support team members by leading projects, sharing ideas, and reviewing work of others. Work with internal business partners to interpret, develop, and document report specifications, provide data-driven direction & guidance for Stars and clinical quality improvement.
  8. Anticipate end-user data needs, be curious, and proactively communicate ideas to stakeholders.
  9. Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proactively identify patterns in issues and research root causes to improve overall quality.
  10. Create best practices and use them in deliverables.
  11. Assist in processes to collect, cleanse, and enrich data coming into our data platform.
  12. Evaluate data and reports for accuracy and validity; ensure reporting meets customer requirements/regulations.
  13. Support analysis of complex data for trending and patterns; recognize significance of findings and identify improvement opportunities; participate in making program and process recommendations.
  14. Manage multiple projects, report progress, and present analyses and findings to stakeholders.
  15. Oversee reconciliation processes and monitor trends in data inconsistencies across UHC and CDOs.
  16. Review and validate reports prepared by the Data Analyst to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  17. Evaluate, refine, and approve query and ETL changes to optimize data retrieval and reconciliation workflows.
  18. Manage data discrepancy investigations by liaising with CDOs, UHC, and technical teams.
  19. Monitor and enhance dashboards (Tableau, metrics, performance) and present to Markets.
  20. Own and maintain business rules for data validation, supporting data accuracy in reporting.
  21. Develop and maintain issue tracking logs for discrepancies, escalations, and resolution efforts.
  22. Support Quality Data Management Oversight leadership by identifying systemic data issues and proposing process improvements.
  23. Collaborate with the Systems Engineer to implement solutions that improve data transfer and quality.
  24. Liaise between payer, provider, and technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 5+ years of combined experience with analysis, development, and testing related to reporting
  • 5+ years of SQL experience, including the ability to develop efficient, well-performing queries
  • 4+ years of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) experience in tools such as Alteryx
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or related field
  • 2+ years of Cloud experience using APIs, Kafka, Azure Databricks (Terraform), GitHub
  • 4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst utilizing SQL, Python, or similar
  • 4+ years of report development and visualization experience with Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience with Streamlit or Python
  • Use of source control tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or similar
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to accuracy and detail
  • Self-starter with proven ownership of responsibilities and successful project completion
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in high-volume workload situations

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contributions. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
