Job description

The Senior Data Analyst oversees activities related to data integrity, security, and enhancement of data value, including data cleaning, query tracking, and policy development. The role may involve directing data movement across systems, overseeing validation and organization, and ensuring data accessibility within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, or related field, or equivalent work experience and education. A master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• 5+ years of database application/management experience, preferably in a large medical center or healthcare environment. A combination of experience and education, including research analytics, may be considered.

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System provides salary ranges compliant with NYC Law on Salary Transparency. The range for this role is $65,885 - $110,500 annually, depending on experience, education, and operational needs. This range does not include bonuses, incentives, or other benefits.

Responsibilities

1. Utilize modeling techniques to analyze and specify data structures in large or complex datasets.
2. Implement best practices to ensure data integrity, quality, and deliver analyzable data to internal and external clients.
3. Recommend data transformation practices, define migration requirements, and validate data.
4. Translate, merge, clean, and map data into various data models.
5. Oversee data cleansing, quality, and consolidation activities using industry standards.
6. Develop and document data standardization, enrichment, validation, security, and exception handling processes.
7. Document and recommend methods to improve data processing and flow.
8. Define parameters for file or space utilization as needed.
9. Collaborate with IT management and staff.
10. Access data in the Data Warehouse as required.
11. Assist faculty and staff with queries, analyses, and data retrieval issues.
12. Design and develop custom applications to meet database requirements.
13. Identify recurring issues, analyze causes, and develop solutions with measurable outcomes.
14. Train staff on database systems.
15. Stay informed on current data management regulations and technologies.
16. Prepare manuscripts and materials for internal and external audiences as needed.
17. Perform other related duties.
